Well OpenSUSE already does this by default according to their wiki.

Well, FESCO can only make a decision for Fedora, but a number of other distros (but not all, of course) have already done so. Fedora is actually one of the trailers in enabling fstrim.timer by default in this case (often Fedora is on the (b)leading edge, but not in this case). If your preferred distro does not enable fstrim.timer by default you should work with the decision making group to consider making a similar change if you want it changed.

All the others have been doing this since about 2016. Fedora team works mysteriously sometimes.
