I have two NVIDIA Jetson TX2s with the default development carrier boards.

As a desktop, micro-server or machine learning platform I think the TX2s are amazing value. Faster than my i7 MacBook Pro at running Ubuntu desktop.

4K HDMI2 Pascal GPU with fully vendor supported graphics drivers.

Ubuntu 16.04 by default at the moment. At least until the next, frequently updated, Jetpack release from NVIDIA.

8GB memory with more memory bandwidth than the most expensive Intel chips available
    .

PCIe X4 which I use for a M.2. adaptor for NVMe SSD.

Even has Chromium aarch64 installed by default.

If you scoff at it requiring binary only packages from NVIDIA for graphics drivers, first ask yourself how much of the platform your reading this on is truely open ? Intel CPUs, nope. Iphone, nope. Android, nope on graphics drivers.
