      The login animation should be removed all together, imho.
      The app-drawer animation should either be sped up, removed or changed into some other kind of animation.
      Aside from extensions, there's also a gsettings switch for turning animations off:

      $ gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface enable-animations false

        I do like animations though. I just feel the default animations could need some tuning.

          Speaking of the animations. For me the upgrade to GNOME 3.16 has made the animations slow and laggy, especially the "Activities view" thing. I've noticed other people on the web having issues with this too. So far it seems to be happening with the Nvidia binary blob on GTX 6xx hardware.
