      LXQt; so far so good

      Yep,
No silly gtk depends, and thus, less likely systemd-(blob) depends.
Qt libs are much nicer now too, ever since gtk3, ..., got lost in systemd land.

Keep in mind that if you use it with Kwin to get Wayland support later, you will still end up with systemd dependencies.

He means nothing. You can use GNOME3 without systemd, as it is done on the *BSDs

No, he meant Gnome, whether it's true or not.

And we all know (or should) that Gnome doesn't depend on systemd, but its functionality which nothing else that is currently maintained provides. You don't need to point it out as if everyone who doesn't spell it out whenever they make a post even remotely related to it is trying to be malicious. fuck. >_>

Oh you must not leave disinformation uncommented, as otherwise someone else will stumble across that very information and takes it for true and spreads it in some other forum. This process is self-fertilizing and thus has to be stopped. It applies to any disinformation, not only to stuff considering GNOME.

I bet they need systemd for wayland as everyone else

That was a while ago. Meanwhile, there is systemd-shim and logind-shim. Those provide the needed dbus interfaces without systemd running as PID1. It's already in debian.
