    Not sure if those suggestions were for me, Michael or both but I don't think I have KSM enabled because /sys/kernel/mm/ksm isn't there. I do use LVM on the host but the guest has direct access to an entire drive so that's not it.

    I'll try virtio when I get Windows 7 but I'm not in a hurry to upgrade. The only thing I need it for is testing stuff in IE9.

      Michael, benchmarking KSM would be interesting (cpu overhead, plus how much ram it saves).

        Come to think about it, if you're running a single VM, KSM should not trigger. (Unless you're hitting some kind of bug).

        One more thing: I'd suggest you conduct the test on a fully updated Fedora 13.
