    Why don't they just merge VRR and HDR in Gnome 46 and mark them as experimental feature in Gnome Settings? Therefore, users can choose to enable it to try new feature while knowing that it is just a experimental feature.

      Because color protocol hasn't even been acked by anyone yet.
