GNOME Firmware Updater Is A New UI For Managing Firmware On Linux By Power Users
timofonic ah yes, let’s hope System76, who made a DE-independent version of this software with others and compatibility in mind comes to their senses and just helps Red Hat make Gnome-specific software. That makes so much sense.

Gnome software will offer to install firmware updates through LVFS for you. If you don't have any supported hardware or the firmware is already up-to-date, then you won't notice anything.

Was thinking more specifically like this software with quickly seeing notes, downgrading, etc just for firmware, not that of simply offering updates which is what Gnome Software does.

it's dell doing it, not redhat. and it is no more gnome-centric than system76 abortion. and unlike system76 dell does it right, collaborating with community

system76 created firmware manager overlapping with standard fwupd frontends, why you noticed it only now?
subj is power user variant which shows all devices and all available firmware versions, i.e. it allows downgrade, instead of just update to latest
