Please, KDE team, revert this change, and don't give up resisting the GNOME force!
    KWin already supports CSD.

    KRunner is CSD application.

hey ngraham were does Wayland sit on your radar for usability/stability fixes?

I *want* to use it as a daily driver, but (at least for me) there is always some little thing holding it back (multi monitor weirdness/random crashyness|stability).

I am hoping this is a lot better in 5.16 (and future qt 5.13 with its better behaviour).

Is it just me? Am I an edge case?

My personal last remaining blocker (Libinput touchpad click method support) was just fixed in 5.16 so I hope to start using it full time. That should help with finding the other rough edges.

I look forward to the paper cuts you find being fixed! p.s - awesome work on the weekly updates - something I look forward to every week!

EDIT: I'm some how didn't notice the "No Borders" option directly above "No Side Borders"

Text below dimmed since, I can't see any strike-through option for text here.

What I don't get is that the settings already support no side borders, just missing omitting borders from the bottom(I don't think the top has any due to title bar?)

Shouldn't they support the setting there instead of having the theme presumably ignore this setting for an internal setting that'd be beneficial to others? Or have I misunderstood and it's just part of a Look'n'Feel theme for Breeze where it changes the border setting, and they have added a new borderless/none option?

The theme is not ignoring any setting. It's actually the opposite: the theme now has the ability to say, "Hey, here is my preferred border size" (and Breeze Defaults to None, which was always an option). KWin now listens to that. If you as the user don't like this, there's an easy UI in the Window Decorations System Settings page that allows you to override it and choose your own border size.

But, in order to be ready for "grandma" to use, it has to have some problems to solve.
A few problems i find confusing for the average user are:

The current wallpaper should be copied in a home folder. Setting a wallpaper from a mountable location makes it not set at login!
The language settings, or locale! try to set a new language. Now, put English back! the result its a mixed language. now, try to remove one of them!. There is no option!
Since Nate mentioned that they are working at the samba share , I won`t mention it! but, i will mention a quick one! When trying to access a samba share with password (or no password in Windows), it should try first user and password "nobody". If i share something in my local win network, Linux requires those password. Again, confusing for "grandma".
Another one, it`s when i right click something. with the touchpad The menu shows too close and moving the finger a bit causes the first action to register.(e.g. konsole).

These are not complaints, but, we are talking a lot about the year of Linux desktop. I think KDE has a chance here in a couple of years. It`s the easiest to use. But let`s make it accesible for "grandma" too!

Keep up the good work devs!
I don't think "grandma" uses samba shares, but I agree with your other points.

"Grandma" may not. But, my wife does to watch movies. She has the same linux skills as "Grandma"

I'm not familiar with this. Is it a Windows 10 convention? Can you file a bug at bugs.kde.org against kio-extras | Samba? Thanks!

                    i`ve created Bug 408542

But still, most "wives" or "grandmas" won't, so your wife's a niche
