Hopefully by that release they will fix the no window boarder bug that is visible on Plasma on Wayland since months. Very annoying.

ramnasko FWIW I couldn't find anything on it either, but in general, many decisions are discussed on the IRC channel (#gtk+ on GIMPNet).

same idea came to me also on second thought. i think that's definitely a reason to use mailing list over IRC i think. There is no history which is easy to access via wer search. is there a history at all on irc?

Plus they are already revamping the workflow of GNOME anyway with 3.30, given the fact that App Menus will no longer be on the top panel: https://wiki.gnome.org/Design/Whiteb...pMenuMigration

I like this. The App Menus always seemed odd and out of place to me. They dangled themselves away from the app and seemed like an inferior version of the OS X top bar menus. I think the hamburger menus have now become a familiar UX feature and thus will be more familiar and intuitive for new users to find and operate. It gracefully translates from desktop to mobile too so it's better for convergent apps.
