In a couple generations of cards, TW3 will run at 60+ fps at 4K too. For now 4K is just too much for Wine gaming IMHO.

Open Source Software for running Windows applications on other operating systems.

There are quite a few glide wrapper and a few open source ones as well. Basically wine project has not had a direct need to do that. I have not seen a bug about Direct 5 surfaces linked to any games in the appdb. Do check that the DirectX 5 issues are reported and linked to appdb entries so there is at least some note that a developer might see and go that might be fun to implement.

Unnecessary, afaik nGlide wrapper (Glide to Vulkan) works fine in Wine

Getting better but not quite there yet, certainly at a %80 of windows performance level will be a marvelous day indeed for us rare 4k gamers.
Those with 1080-1440p setups are laughing, having their fill as most GPU's can achieve well above 60fps (a minimal for PC gaming), at 4k I'm seeing dips down to 30fps region allot which is annoying. (with a 1080ti)
I'm consistently getting 90% of Windows performance in ESO on 4K.

But the bottleneck is the CPU in most cases...

And dips to below 30 fps are common... but that happens on Windows too (Vega 56).

Whoa, nGlide now translates to Vulkan? Nice. I've been using nGlide for years now to play Need for Speed 2 SE. Even the old version that translates to D3D9 works great in Wine. I even did some hack so that the original 3dfx logo is shown when the game loads, a nice throwback to when I actually had the first 3dfx Voodoo card in a Pentium MMX 166Mhz machine

You mean like this one which I reported years ago? https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29521 Not the only DirectX 5/6 bug that's been logged either. Or Perhaps https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45155 which was logged months ago (and is actually fixed in ReactOS).

                The bug list is huge

I know why I had not seen them. Neither are under component=directx-d3d this covers old school direct draw issues.

OpenGL Window Z order in Truespace the https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45155 is that truly a user32 bug because if that truly a direct x 5/6 but that is most likely completely in the wrong component list so most likely completely invisible to the developers work on wine direct x.

Wine bug list is huge and attempting to keep it searchable is a uphill battle. Just because I have not seen a bug it does not mean there is not a bug listed it can just mean some bug metadata is not done yet or worse the metadata is wrong.

Thanks for the reply I just thought I better say something particular when they were bugs I was not seeing. Was suggesting something off with them.
