  • Haiku Recieves Package Management Support

Haiku has officially mainlined its newly developed package management framework into their nightly builds.
This means that the next version of Haiku will most likely have package management with dependency resolution enabled by default.

For more information, take a look at the official blog post here:
I'm proud to announce that, at last, the package management branch has been merged into the main development line, aka master branch. The builds and nightly images from hrev46113 on will include the new feature.

Isn't that the package management Canonical tries to achieve with click on Ubuntu touch ?
It would be the perfect solution for this.

No, Canonical's model is like Apple's, all applications and their required dependencies are packaged together and isolated. Haiku's is more like apt-get with shared libraries.
