Excuse me, maybe I'm missing something.
It seems a bit confusimg to me, like being a Work In Progress conversion elsewhere and it's a GitHub mirror from a frozen Subversion repository.

Christmas and people have personal lives as well, just didn't get all non-critical stuff done.
You don't HAVE TO use read-only mirror when main repo is up.
