Any news of Intel making Clear BSD to make up for the performance loss? This is getting embarrassing.

For daily use performance differences are negligible. Some linuxes, like OpenSUSE could be even worse performing and still see enterprise use. Stability is more important that raw performance there.
Since BSD's are DIY, nobody stops you from tuning your OTB perf. Phoronix never bothers with it and rightly so.
