The solution is much harder, we need better education and to elect politicians that want to fix the underlying problems. This is just stupid.
honestly, probably a tiny fraction of the man hours spent by people whining about the change

The goalposts will keep arbitrarily moving to create new problems until people realize this is about control, not offensiveness or hate or race or anything else. Just control.

You really don't see the irony of being in favor of banning language because you're too sensitive to hear it and calling others snowflakes?

Yeah, Totally agree... The amount of effort made to improve terminology is almost certainly tiny compared to the amount of effort being wasted complaining about it.

People say these things like they're jokes, but that will be an inevitable target. They'll eventually get around to everything, then when they're done they'll go around re-censoring everything with new rules. It's not about solving problems, it's about creating problems.

Improving terminology? It has nothing to do about improving terminology, it's a dog whistle to the far left. pure unfiltered virtue signalling.

No, people sit around finding new things to claim offense over and get censored all day. For some it's their job. People spend maybe a few minutes criticizing this insane practice on here. Of course your use of "improve" is completely subjective. All arguments against it being a slippery slope are out the window since there's literally video of schoolteachers burning "offensive" books like Tom Sawyer. You're kowtowing to an authoritarian ideology that will roll right over you in the end like it will all of us. You're not safe just because you're cheering it on like a clapping seal.

Yeah, so? And what you just did is a dog whistle to the far right fascists. It's exactly about improving terminology, but you feel as if it hurts your virtues somehow? So fascist... I bet you're just itching to start a eugenics movement to kill anything that doesn't match your virtues....

It's not about man hours. The problem lies in the logic failure that promotes vapid word games as an "improvement". This Emperor has no clothes. It's sad to see an otherwise good and worthy FOSS project stoop to this level.

What does Planned Parenthood have to do with this?

                      Bolded by me...

I don't agree, but I have to admit that was a awesome quip. I like it.
