What's with this annoying tendency for technology to use green and blue for everything? We need more variation. And that's part of why I think the current logo is perfect. Orange and red are good colours too!

Well, I think they really need to find someone to organize the procedure as Alan Coopersmith pointed out. Otherwise this will lead to nowhere.
