No, if it is of any use to Wayland.
I am not so much interested in XWayland, I hope to get rid of both XWayland and X.Org as soon as possible and run native Wayland only.

Wayland does not use anything. It is just a protocol.

It's up to the compositors to use something to present. Most of them use DRM/KMS though.
