I posted there a branch that avoid the issue and a merged fix here: https://github.com/jderose9/dash-to-panel/pull/218. Have you tried it since? In my experience, the crashes went away so long as you don't use "previews on hover".
Thanks for the pointer. My last crash was on September 8. I don't see a release date on https://extensions.gnome.org/, so I'm not sure which version I have. I suppose I'll have to update for GNOME 3.26 anyway.

It might be the same issue. The linked report doesn't have symbols for gjs, while I haven't seen the JS stack trace (I wasn't even aware it can be obtained).

In any case, it's an issue somewhere else that just happens to be triggered more often by the window preview feature. One of the possible fixes I've seen on the GNOME bug tracker was to compile mozjs or gjs with -fno-strict-aliasing, which I find quite distasteful to say the least. It just proves my point about the additional complexity inherent in bringing JavaScript to something that only has to pass OpenGL contexts to windows and tell them about input events.

I don't think there has been a new release to extensions.gnome.org since my PR there. So you might have a better experience by running from git directly (until there is a new version).

GNOME 3.26 will probably bring a few new warnings (happened to a lot of extensions), but things should work. Don't hesitate to open issues on github

I know it's not your extension, but please try to get updates published more often .

Heh, yeah... The good news is that since Gnome 3.26 is out in two days, the author might push a new version for that!
