Who cares about Nvidia? Nvidia is unusable under both Wayland and X11 (nouveau often doesn't provide even basic acceleration for DE).

I am not using Mir or Wayland until they get proprietary driver support, Nouveau is not good enough especially for 9xx series which I have. I might give them a try for a few days though.

Works for me. And never had gaming issues unlike AMD users. Also wayland should just support EGLstreams, an open standard instead of something platform specific.

I've tried GNOME on Wayland under Ubuntu.
            • GNOME Terminal 3.20.2 is buggy, it has some weird shadow.
            • Evince Document Viewer 3.20.1 is buggy, it has weird window decorators (Ambiance theme, when not using Ambiance).
            • Firefox and Chromium are not native Wayland applications, however they still work via XWayland.
            • Windows open in weird and unexpected positions which is very annoying.

            Things I've heard:
            • Screensaver will turn on when watching movies, however there is a patch for this.
            • No minimum size hints for windows, however there is a patch for this.
            • No pointer locking, so running games in window instead of fullscreen might not be pleasant.

Other than that, I think most things seems to be working quite nice.

                  article mentions gnome 3.22
btw, does canonical employ gnome devs, or waits for redhat fixing bugs as usual?

wayland is getting pointer locking, most these things are probably fixed by release.

No because Chrome still uses X11 and whenever they enable Wayland support its a completely different codebase than Webkit at this point anyway. The main WebkitGtk issue AFAIK is copy/paste support.
