Do someone know if it's possible to start a wayland session from sddm without systemd? https://github.com/ConsoleKit2/ConsoleKit2/issues/54

Wow, does anyone still even have a plasma screen?

It is, I've used it before, it's still using X for the login screen though, you're supposed to launch it through xdm.

If you can buy it in a store, not that I've seen. If it's still usable, very much so. A plasma screen is not for high frequencies but if you are working and not playing games you don't really need high FPS, only stable and functional applications.

I am aware the question is not serious, but it's a valid question nonetheless (in my opinion).

Just install systemd and stop expecting other people to implement your niche case.

              1) I dont' expect anything, asking is legit.
              2) Pretty soon it will not be a niche case anymore.

Interesting. What do you think 80% of Linux desktop users will be using instead of systemd next year?

The answer is in your question: 20% is far from being a niche case.

From the people that use wayland the percentage would probably below 0.5% mid next year, even if it is possible and just as easy as with systemd. TBH I would be more happy if the time would be spend on general improving instead of making it compatible with OpenRC or sysvinit for a long time.
