    One thing is Wayland/Weston have some functionlity and another is only sevral users know how to enable them to be functional. The Wayland interface noted above is one of that I mention.

      No, I did not. I just started Weston then tried running GNOME Calculator.

        Weston has its uses.

        Chromium Wayland on Ozone, Thunderbird Wayland and Firefox Wayland all work well under Weston.

        On the other hand, all the aforementioned either crash on Plasma Wayland or plain refuse to start.

          I use Weston at home because I can start it from the Linux terminal - it is a startx replacement, for what I'm concerned. X programs work fine once you enable xwayland.

          I found that out in desperation when startx stopped working years ago...
