    Sure it does. It means that Mesa is now 4 years behind schedule, as opposed to 5 years with 4.1. (It was 3 years behind schedule at the time of 10.0 release.)

    Did I say it did? It concerns the 12.0 branch instead, which probably will come soon. If that happens in less than a year, Mesa won't fall further behind schedule, but might actually catch up a bit.

        Intel actually supports everything in 4.2, but not in 4.0 or 4.1.

          Sort of. You can't support 4.2 without supporting 4.1 and 4.0. Intel has all the required extensions that were added in that release done, yes, but doesn't really support "everything" in 4.2.
