everyone does. collabora is a buisness. the work he will do teaching their new employees with be a very profitable ROI for them. that is his main job by the sounds of it. but even then collabora gets hired by just about anyone who want's anything graphics related done. he could probably work on literally anything mesa related and it would benefit one of their clients.

so for someone like him, it's in their best interest to do exactly what they just did. Give him the task of tutoring new employees, and when he isn't doing it, just tell him to go wild, because as I said, no matter what he does, it will be of benefit to a client regardless.

It's rein. The Queen reiGns and "free reign" sounds like some kind of god mode; but the phrase originates in taking the reins of a horse to rein it in, and the opposite is giving your horse free rein to choose its own path.
