    Since being added to Mesa 19.1 at the start of this month, the Panfrost driver has continued speeding along with bringing up this ARM Mali T600/T700/T860 open-source graphics driver support. The latest batch of code was merged overnight, including support for some reverse-engineering helpers...

      Doesn't know if Cedrus is already made available for prime time?
      Cedrus also persue MidGard T720 for Allwinner H6( with its own Compression scheme ASTC ), along with Mali 4xx series

      But I don't know its status

        Cedrus and Mali(-T) are two completely different functions (ok, both do "something with graphics").

        Cedrus is the driver for the Allwinner Video Encode/Decode block.

        Mali(-T) is the 3G graphics engine which can be licensed from ARM. It does (e.g. ASTC) texture (de-)compression, but nothing video related. It is not only used by Allwinner, but also by Rockchip and many others.

        Both are connected (via shared memory) to the display engine - compositor, scaler, color conversion, scanout - which drives the display: DSI, HDMI, DP, ...

          Yes Cedrus its for video
          I think Lima is more comparable, but it only supports OpenGL ES 2.0, were the Mali(T) supports 3.0

          I think ASTC, is Alwinner own Technology for compression..
          ARM has its own..
          Or Maybe ASTC, its a re-branded name for ARM own compression scheme, it could be, but I think they are different..
