Video on tv-out still cropping under Xv overlay. With TexturedVideo enabled, cropping is gone but video is slower and sharpness, colors, contrast and blacks not so good. Also a big green line at the top. All these disappear with Xv and TexturedVideo disabled.

I installed them but they fail to install control panel and when I went looking for it after a --keep, they were nowhere to be found. Anyone tried these and gotten the control panel installed?

Did you use the graphical installer or buildpkg? What distribution are you using?

Graphical and it is an Ubuntu Edgy derivative called Linux Mint.

The installer doesn't recognize the Xorg version either but it installs and 3d works fine. I have the fgl_glxgears and fglxrinfo and the gamma one but no control panel.

Here is the output in the terminal window from running the installer:

          Creating directory fglrx-install
          Verifying archive integrity... All good.

Running it with --buildpkg Ubuntu/6.10 fixed it all.

            Thanks for mentioning it.

              Hi all,

I am reading for many days now about fglrx and all the ATI stuff on Linux. I am just about to give up.

Everything seems ok but, of course, it is not.

I am from those who have the DRI impossible to enable. Here are the classics error messages I got:

For sure I could live without opengl, but it is now a question of honour to make it work.

              Sure you understand.

What happens if you make your xorg.conf really simple? Like here http://www.phoronix.com/redblog/down...c6-sample.conf

Are you trying the 8.32.5 drivers?

Did the drivers work with any other distribution?

Well yes, it is the 8.32.5 drivers on a FC6 system. I can't try on another distribution.

With the xorg.conf you gave me, I got a black screen when system should be starting X server (no input signal in LCD display, i.e. display was in standby mode) and the HDD was not loading anything. The num lock key was working and the mouse too but nothing else. I tried to Ctrl+Alt+Backspace and Ctrl+Alt+Suppr but nothing happened. I had to hard reset.

I just added lines about HorizSync, VertRefresh, AGPMode and AGP Size and I got a proper boot but at improper HorizSync and VertRefresh (??!).

                  Still no DRI enabled.

Does your Xorg.0.log show any errors (EE) not warnings?

Had you tried using the open-source Radeon drivers?

                      The command
                      Code:
                      cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep WW && cat var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep EE
only send back warnings. No error.

The radeon driver does not work. My card is still unsupported by the radeon driver so it is "normal" that it does not work.
