It can't be compared to the ones here because of the screen resolution and a factory overclocked GPU, but it shows performance is increasing since the initial support last year.

At least your OA 350 fps results look very good , no bandwidth problems it seems for you which is bit unusual when compared with Michael results (not only this one i compared something earler when resolution is on line)

Or something weird happened there for you or i tend to believe Micheal results too much because that looks better then both catalyst linux/windows and in line to nvidia blob

If the test was "latest kernel + latest X + latest Mesa + not-the-latest LLVM" then I would agree (politely ) but since most Ubuntu users will be running this stack until the next release it seems useful to me.

Which repo would you use if you want to test llvm 3.7? Seems ~paulo-miguel-dias stalled updating his ppa lately... It more seems to me that there is no active repo with current llvm mesa

As someone who frequently complains about this here, I'm perfectly fine with Michael doing tests using the distro defaults like this.

Yes, llvm3.7 tests would be nice but it's a different topic as long as he isn't throwing in some results claiming to be latest git code when they aren't even close to that.

I guess darkbasic point out that now because "Ubuntu 15.10 is faster then 15.04" that article will came in about 6 months later , but scheduler which make things faster (mostly for Unigine demos) is already there in llvm 3.7 for about two months .

Summa summarum, might be just that it is boring for him to read 8 months old news

I didnt stall i just cant make llvm 3.7 git 32 bits compile for the life of me.

And since mesa git doesnt compile with the last llvm 3.7 i COULD compile, im kinda stuck right now.

Anyway, i completed the process of upgrading my devel rig to vivid today. ill do more work this week on this issue, but seeing here, gentoo guys and probably others are having the same problem

I too want to see my ppa up to date, since i have a intel/radeon combo and i eat my own dog food

Not sure why it does not compile, official apt repo works fine here on Debian (i use that most of the time, and just sometimes build llvm mostly just if i need to bisect something) as i see same packages are builded for Ubuntu too:

Not sure if it is possible to just add that as external dependency for ppa's, so you don't need to worry about it? Or just rebuild that in ppa, it should work

For some, yes, but the vast majority of users out there (just not only counting Phoronix readers) use what the distribution is supplied to them. In fact, just not for Ubuntu, but for most of the leading (non-rolling-release) distros.

Then at other times when it's the specific intent of the article, I'm happy to also run the Git benchmarks for showing the maximum/latest potential.
