I've done a lot of searching on this and found many different possible solutions, but was hoping someone could give me more of a step-by-step howto.
I had Fedora 7 with a kernel prior to 2.6.23 working with 8.42.3 and had compiz-fusion running perfectly. I did a fresh install of Fedora 8 and installed fglrx from livna. However, I'm not having any luck with desktop effects. I understand this is because of this new kernel version and that there is a patch available, but do I need to download the ATI installer to be able to patch? And if so, can someone walk me through the process?
( I know I left out a lot of details, but I did research this and am pretty sure I just need the patch. I can post specific errors, etc. if needed. )
Many thanks,
Kevin
