They also seem to be getting better with putting out updates frequently that actually make a difference, so I must say I'm pretty happy now. But I do have pretty bad indigestion from all that coffee.
Don't use gl_finish 1 with 13.11 Beta 6 and newer. It halves the performance and should not be needed anymore.

Yeah, I haven't been using it since 13.11. It does feel a bit strange though being able to run a game without doing some hackish thing to it to get it to run smoothly. I sort of miss typing in "gl_finish 1" into a game console at start up. It's like a warm up to the game.

For me Left 4 Dead 2 is simply unplayable with latest catalyst, on the contrary it works very well with open source radeon drivers. HD7950.

        Edit: I'm talking about beta5, still didn't try beta6.

just installed beta6, L4D2 runs nearly perfectly fine. Only had three or four small lags and even those were hardly noticeable. My GPU is a HD5870.

What is it this gl_finish? I'm no expert and do not know what's going on. What is it, What is this for, where it is used, where it activates, where off? As for it gives, what changes?

Can someone explain to me? Because the only thing I'm doing is simply installs the drivers Catalyst, and nothing besides, I do not change them.

                  Sorry, for noobs question

Well, there is definetly a remarkable performance improvement.
Still HL2 EP2 does not feel very responsive but at least its fluid now. Mouse lag is low but still existing!
And there is a strange camera shaking with HL2: Lost Coast. TF2 is fluid.
                    X-Plane 10 crashes.
(Euro Truck Simulator 2 performance is really good now! Sir, you are being hunted: +25% fps!)

Can you guys confirm this or is something wrong with my setup?

It was an experimental workaround in the Source Engine to counter the input lag with the Catalyst driver. You should forget about it and just use the new Beta 6.

AntiAliasing still causes some problems with performance and input latency, so try if disabling AA helps. Also there are some corner cases like using flashlight in HL2 which are still somewhat problematic, so it's not just you.
