droste: Thanks for the help, the code did appear to fix the size, which makes everything look a bit nicer to me. My system seems to be getting more and more stable from some recent official updates. For the past few days, when X goes black, it only lasts for a couple seconds, and that doesn't happen every time. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it just gets better from here
