Well at least they de-uglified the Catalyst Control Center by finally making it use GTK2 (or did they do that in a previous version, not sure).
And I can finally start new X session (also since previous version I believe).

But blur is still horribly broken.

Really? Now every time I open a window, Compiz will crash.
        Any workarounds for that?

Yeah it is. My bad :P

I'd rather have Motif, if only the actual driver worked.

Close all windows and try again (Alt+F2: compiz --replace). It will work. Until you open a new window.

Okay, resolved quake4 issue! lib32-catalyst-utils under arch is working with a slight modification. Seems like the driver is now linked with libatiuki, and that's what quake4 was missing, along with other 32 bit games under 64bit.

Will stick with this driver on a second thought now that 32bit apps are okay. Wanna test direct2d, will check it soon.

Really? How can AMD/ATI seriously release a *another* new driver without support for xserver 1.7x? Maybe the devs need a new coffee machine or something to get them in gear?!
