It's fenced off because it's in testing, and like anything relating to fglrx that is in testing it will remain closed off to the main public.

The 1080p Africa video was removed from Apple's HD site
I've had it for quite a while, It looks much the same bitrate as the sahara one.

      Here's the first 75 meg - http://www.andyqos.ukfsn.org/bbc-africa_m1080p-75.mov
By analyzing the page sources and merging the URL patterns I managed to find the direct link to the 'removed' BBC Africa Full HD clip:

Watch trailers for movies and TV shows on tv.apple.com. Browse trailers for upcoming TV series and films.

I've tried the BBC Africa clip using pure software decoding, and mplayer takes 65% of one core to do it.

The Phenom II is simply ridiculous. I love it

          @PinguinFunkyBeat:

That video is not a good benchmark. It plays smoothly even on a slow-ass single core Athlon64.

          Try this one instead: http://fs7.www.ex.ua/get/205576/Plan...80p_sample.mkv

          and post your results

Why are all the test vids so huge, it takes nearly an hour on my 2Mbps adsl (which is common here). edit: the host won't give me full speed either, getting 35kbps :P

Why not just clip the best-representing 10s and post that?

                  ???

I'm getting an average download speed of 350 KB/sec with this file:

Apple's servers are usually very fast (over 1 MB/sec), but sometimes they get overcrowded so the speed drops to 50 KB/s or lower.

                    Here's a mirror:

Download is a bit slower from this one (~150 KB/sec)

It's only a one minute video, and the download works fine here, 700 ~ 800 KB/sec, it took me about 3 minutes to download that file.

Mplayer however struggles playing this video with an Athlon X2 @ 2.8GHZ, I have yet to try mplayer-mt.
