  • AMD RX 7900 XTX on Debian 11 not work correctly

    Good morning,

I installed an AMD RX 7900 XTX in my PC. Reading you I thought that by upgrading Debian 11 with kernel 6.1 and mesa-utils 8.5 it would work but, on reboot with kernel 6.1 I have an error message that says :

« Failed to start Light Display Manager »

Could you advise me you who managed to make such a graphics card work ?

    Best regards.

    Philippe

Make sure you get at least Mesa 22.3 and also fetch linux-firmware.git.

I was missing 2-3 dependencies... I managed to get a normal display but I can't see my mouse on the screen anymore. It is present but not visible when I boot with kernel 6.1 ;-(

Do you have an idea ??

If you are using X, you need xf86-video-amdgpu 23.0.0 or this patch (https://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/dr...096ad456dca614), or you can disable the hardware cursor in your xorg config.
