Black screen when attempting to install Bionic Beaver Beta on VEGA 64

If I have put this in the incorrect forum, I apologise.

I bought a VEGA 64 after Christmas, and have had trouble with drivers since. When I boot from a USB device with Ubuntu 18.04.b loaded on it, I see the standard GRUB screen - once I go into Install Ubuntu the screen stays on but no display is given.

If I leave the computer on for 5 or so minutes, the computer goes to sleep.

Can anyone offer some assistance as I've been unable to use this card properly since I bought it!

I've made a small amount of progress, I've been able to install Ubuntu 18.04 through nomodeset, however graphical performance is awful.
