Yeah but the ventilator will only run at the slow boot frequency. If you actually want to breathe with it, you'll have to download and install a proprietary driver.

But if you install your RTX2080 to it it'll ray trace and anti-alias the air. You've never breathed until you've had air at 8x SSAA.

Honestly in spite of all the nvidia+linux stuff, kudos to these guys for building something and not turning it into a sales platform for their own chips. Using an atmel microcontroller is a great choice and the cynic in me is happy to see they didn't use a much more expensive and complex Tegra.

It was already announced keynote on 14 May, but I wouldn't hold weight in it being announced at the keynote itself.

Thanks, yes looking at https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/gtc/ there is now a mention of May 14 and 19 but seeing how they released different parts at very different dates it feels like they might keep releasing small parts for some time to come so i believe that you might be right that things might not be presented at that date.

NVIDIA Chief Scientist Bill Dally devised this open-source ventilator that can be built in a matter of minutes and costs around $400 USD with off-the-shelf parts. Dally's ventilator design is primarily based around a proportional solenoid valve and a micro-controller.
