    Welcome to the wonderful world of modern embedded hardware. Linux is still a bit behind in this area, not just when it comes to video output. The fact that each device is wired slightly differently certainly doesn't help.
    Yay, I've got it to work, the key was Debian Jessie 32bit (because it has built-in 32bit-UEFI support) and I've added xserver-xorg-video-intel_2.99.917-1~exp1_i386.deb from experimental. Still on 3.16 kernel, I will have a look if upgrading is an option. Thanks for your thought, Gusar, that got me on track!
