Phoronix: Ubuntu 13.10 Can Outperform OS X 10.9 On Intel OpenGL

With Apple's OS X 10.9 "Mavericks" having better OpenGL performance and in compliance with OpenGL 4.1 rather than being GL3-limited as with existing OS X releases, new benchmarks were carried out at Phoronix to see how well Apple's OpenGL driver stack on the current OS X 10.9 developer preview compared to Ubuntu Linux when testing the Intel graphics driver.

Strange how OSX only gets a small lead, in one specific test.

Do the exposed API levels affect the code paths on any of the tests?

Could you PLEASE test the HD4000/HD5000...
The Sandy benchmarks aren't the best example. Especially since the 3000 series doesn't even support GL4+. And that chipset practically depreciated on OSX in terms of driver updates.

Warsow at max possible graphics isn't as heavy as Nexuiz or Xonotic is, those 2 games at max quality settings completely blows most Linux native OpenGL games out of the water.

I don't have any HD 4000 Apple system and my Haswell MacBook Air system still has Linux issues....

It was certainly the default on the Mac tested in TFA...

Phoronix this is a request for a in depth comparison between OS X 10.9 and Ubuntu 13.10 (or other distros) in general terms

                    meaning, h264 encoding, computing benchmarks

                    the works
