Michael Just a heads up that the poor astcenc encoding performance scaling on Windows was caused by a compressor issue. Windows splits cores into groups of up to 64 logical cores, and the way we were querying the CPU count was using an older API which only returned the number of cores in the first hardware group. In large core count systems this results in a maximum of 64 threads getting created.

The latest compressor release (4.6.1) which is now available on GitHub should fix this one, and bring the Windows performance inline with Ubuntu. Full details of the issue on the encoder GitHub issue #439.
