    If you count ChromeOS and Android, Linux is doing great! Even MacOS is making inroads.

    Linux killed WinCE. Linux owns cloud computing. MS even had to create their own Linux distro. I'm skeptical of your claims about Windows Server replacing Linux, as well. Do you have any data to back that up?

    Most PC users just take Windows because they know it and it comes with their computer. So, even though it costs money, they don't "see" the cost. It surely says something that Microsoft has had to offer free upgrades, starting with Windows 10.
