I kinda got used to Dell's iDRAC at my last job, I'd admit that an open FLOSS solution would be better. Not everyone has as cool as an interface as DELL, plus older R410 and R420s are clunky in the iDRAC regard. Let's not even talk about Supermicro's BMC.

The diagram "GPU_TEMP vs. Time" in the blog post shows a nicely tuned PID algorithm

There seems to be a little strangeness though. The positive spikes seem to be a little smaller than the negative ones. Rounding errors or Fahrenheit/Celsius conversions lurking somewhere?

Always pleasing to a large and reasonably non-dysfunctional organisation using open source software and openly discussing and sharing its experience. Just hope Cloudflare is tossing some resources in the project's direction as every little bit helps.
Board management and remote bios access has always been a mess and doubly so in multi-vendor environments. Consistent open firmware would be great advance.
The bit on fan/temperature control seemed like inventing critical damping and the feedback equation looks in need of a Laplace transform but these are egineers so must be on top of it all.

OpenBMC has found additional benefit from this open-source BMC software...
Should probably be: "Cloudflare has found additional benefit from this open-source BMC software..."
