I see this affects the family of motherboard around X570S & Z690 for the IT87952E but I was wondering, for the Z790 which I have, I get this dmesg message:


i2c i2c-2: Failed to register i2c client ITE8853:00 at 0x4e (-16)

Could the ITE8853 be the HWMON for them? Meaning it would be the ITE8853 a newever hwmon for Z790. In this case the Z790 Hero from Asus.

The Asus Z790 Hero uses a Nuvoton NCT6798D. Gigabyte tends to use ITE Super IOs.

I get the same message in dmesg log for my ASUS X670E Crosshair Hero motherboard. Hoping that this new patch for the it87 module can be used for my motherboard,

Hopes dashed already. Turns out the ITE8853 device is a USB Connector Client Device chip. NOT the SIO chip for sensors.
