Maybe AMD should send him some fresh APUs then, I can't really understand why the PR guys at AMD can't be smart enough to do it.

two reasons:

1. current APUs are notebook parts almost exclusively, so then he'd be comparing intel desktop parts to AMD laptop parts
2. AMD are not stupid and they know that Michael is very selfish and likes to skew articles into the clickbait sensationalist direction

Kaveri is a two generation old APU. Carrizo or Bristol are the current AMD APUs. Haswell would be a more apt comparison.

What about the latest Bristol Ridge/Carrizo APUs, e.g. A10-9700 or A12-9800? Even as CPU performance is only slightly improved compared to Kaveri the more advanced GPU part should readily outperform Intel HD530/630.

Excellent work by the open source Intel driver developers to get a mid-range nothing special IGP in Skylake outperforming AMD's best IGP solution.
Being the #1 organizational contributor to the Linux Kernel and a major contributor to many other open source projects is certainly paying off.

Why do you people are making excuses for AMD? Until last year no Intel GPU could touch AMD ones in Linux. And this was for a long time. Now Intel finally did achieve parity in the drivers. As a decade long AMD fanboy I say good for then.

Lets rope AMD will go back in the game, not that Intel continue to suck in the graphics area.

Tell ya what: Go into the Linux kernel and remove every line that was contributed by Intel. Then try to boot up your miracle "open source" AMD system since you think AMD invented open source software single handedly or something.

The intel parts costs 1.75~2.15x the Kaveri where I live

It would be better to test more GPU demanding games eg. Metro, in all tested games CPU is a more important than GPU.
