Intel X.Org Driver Released With New Stability Fixes

The xf86-video-intel 2.99.906 driver is what was released this morning and it has fixed damage handling when rendering to a partially damaged GPU surface, improved accounting for fence over-allocation on older Intel Gen 2/3 IGPs, and other regression fixes. There's also an X-Video vsync render engine fix for Haswell graphics processors.
The major change with the forthcoming xf86-video-intel 3.0 driver is defaulting to the SNA acceleration back-end. Originally XMir support was bundled for the 3.0 release, but Intel management decided not to support XMir allegedly for performance reasons.
More details on the xf86-video-intel 2.99.906 release can be found via the snapshot news. The 3.0 stable release is expected soon.
