Intel Loses Another Longtime Open-Source Graphics Driver Developer
Jesse Barnes was a longtime Linux graphics driver developer on the Intel Open-Source Technology Center team. Jesse had been working on the Linux/Android/Chrome graphics stack at Intel since 2007 and had been employed by Intel since 2005 as a platform architect. Jesse had done a lot for the Intel graphics stack from their DDX to DRM driver over the years.
Jesse apparently left Intel in April while I just learned about it this week. His LinkedIn profile has also confirmed he's left Intel while now he is VP of Engineering for a "secret startup." His departure follows that of other longtime Intel Linux graphics driver developers Keith Packard and Eric Anholt in the past two years.
Thanks to your many contributions to the Linux graphics stack, Jesse, and best of luck with your future endeavors.
