      This sort of platform may explain the increasing number of Linux titles, as much as Steam maybe.

      7$99 per month ~ 2 new games per year + no hardware to buy everytime for a good pc

      => Can be a real bargain if game list is good, just like Netflix did with VOD

        netflix has zero latency. game streaming is not new idea and cause of death is high latency

          If this truly is the case, then Nvidia is as much to thank for all the recent Linux ports as Valve/SteamOS, HumbleBundle and the likes.

            you forget the main difference. video is always buffered since it never changes. game cannot buffer future and it is even worse when actions lag from input. just watch Grid demo from last year. it lagged and unsynced like hell. to make matters worse, they probably used best link possible. you can't even imagine low percentage of people having link like that

            if you're playing fast game and you're serious about it, 200ms input lag is already bordering unplayable. i had to use ps3 controller on wire for that reason. games just felt wrong

                What's the reason behind using mostly Linux-native titles? Is it simply that they don't want to pay for Windows licenses? Would they have to pay for a crap-tonne of Windows licenses to power their cloud service and that would make it uneconomical?

                  200 ms isn't bordering unplayable in fast games, it's so beyond unplayable. More than 30 ms in CS:GO and I can really feel it, and I'm just Gold Nova Master.
