I know this isn't a high fidelity game with the kind of fast paced, hyper realistic graphics and sounds people are used to, but maybe one or the other fan of retro text adventures of the likes of Magnetic Scrolls, Infocom, Level 9 or Sierra Online will enjoy this.
Even without an ultra modern tech stack, it's certainly a labor of love.
OceanThrill Murder Mystery is a game my girlfriend, a fellow coder (and talented musician) and I are working on and that has seen a, thus far, very successful Kickstarter campaign which will now soon come to an end (it'll be available through Kickstarter until Wednesday morning, 10 AM Central European).
OTMM is a piece of interactive fiction with a set of lovingly pixelated graphics drawn by yours truly.
The player follows in the footsteps of a detective and his witty, sometimes serious, introverted and almost cruel, sometimes loving and humorous female sidekick, as they discover the whereabouts of a missing submersible and hunt for the murderer of OceanThrill's late interim CEO.
There will be versions of the game for retro platforms like the Amiga, Amstrad CPC or Atari ST, but also a native GNU/Linux application (physical boxes will bear Tux, naturally ).
The tools being used and the game itself will all be open sourced after release.
