To bad, a purple, flat without rounded corners (a.k.a. 1-2px border radius) would have been the perfect fit

If so, are they seriously loading 60kB for a single button?
If not, why use that grotesque and overused styling at all?
I just checked: no boostrap. The entire landing page (not including images) is only ~55kb. With images it's ~189kb.
I didn't check the results page (after you search something), but I assume it's similarly light.

+1 IMO the backend developers are doing a good job, can't say the same for the UX "manager(s)".

Yes, Yahoo! is becoming very solvent and nothing but a long-term growth stock.
Let's see, they have a shitty news aggregator. They have a shitty email service. They have a shitty ad network flush with scams. They have a shitty front-end to a shitty search engine.

Yeah, definitely a long term growth stock.

I feel the same way. It's not as big of an issue as when IE did the same because Firefox makes it really easy to switch it.

    lets see...

    yahoo groups suck

yahoo took over eurosport's webpage. Which is a complete suckfest since then. Including videos where the advertisement loads, the video doesn't.

yahoo uses bing for searches, which is like searching in complete darkness, without hands.

    Nice choice, mozilla!
