I don't remember clicking, I do remember that pressing esc twice made it go away. Thanks for taking an interest in this...

I've spent 20 minutes or so configuring umatrix for this site. The amount of calls to other sites is staggering. I've been pretty much reloading and white listing css, images, script, XHR, and frame. I want to disable scripts. Will that affect the revenue for your site? I'm currently blocking cookies, plugins, and other.
BTW, I've also seen three popover ads since I've enabled this. I will disable access to sites that contain popevers though as I encounter them. So far I'm just white listing at this point.
If you have never seen umatrix, it is like a firewall for your browser. Very impressive. Works on Firefox and Chrome.Last edited by Ryushin; 16 September 2015, 08:51 AM.

Hello! I have disabled AdBlock Plus and Privacy Badger for the site, but I was still not getting any ads except for on the forums. I've found out that the problem is that the ads are "unsafe scripts" according to Chromium, and I have Chromium set to block unsafe scripts. Could you check that out and fix it? I would like to have ads on the main site as I want to support the site, but having to select "Load unsafe scripts" is a hassle and I don't want to disable the setting for safety reasons.

Basically i have got nothing against ads here, but sometimes get 100% load on one CPU core while reading the forum, that's not what i like as the CPU fan starts spinning. After closing the tab the fan idles again. I only noticed this strange behaviour on this site. Maybe a bit too excessive JavaScript...

Hi Michael, I've turned on Ublock Origin for your site I used to support your ads - even clicked a fair few, but in the last couple of weeks the site has had takeover ads, noisy ads etc. I only use ublock origin for sites that I either rarely visit, or for sites that have these aggravating types of ads. I know its a struggle for supporting the site and I've supported your use of ads in previous posting - but this is too far for me.

Hi! I just reviewed my noscript settings, which is blocking stuff on phoronix. Back over summer I asked if you could grant me the premium feature (after I made a matching donation), and you seemed to do that. But it is clear by the voluminous amount of script sources being blocked, that it is no longer in place. Did I somehow lose my premium subscription? Or do I need to take some other action than being logged into the forums?
