  • Unable to access RSS feed due to Cloudflare protection.

Not sure if something is wrong on my end, but I can't access the RSS feed at all, regardless of the method used, whether it is using newsboat, or even plain curl and wget.
    Running curl
    Code:
    curl https://www.phoronix.com/rss.php
gets me the html for cloudflare captcha protection page, and wget just shows me
    Code:
    403 Forbidden.
But somewhat obviously, navigating to the RSS feed in a web browser allows me to solve the cloudflare captcha challenge and thus get access to the RSS feed.

I don't know if this is just me, or if anyone else has encountered this, and of course, I understand why the protection was set in place, but I just wanted to report this after trying multiple solutions and failing.

I'm experiencing this too. My Phoronix RSS feed hasn't updated in Thunderbird for quite some time now.

I managed to load up the URL in Thunderbird itself, as opposed to my default web browser, after a lot of addon wizardry. It downloaded some missing posts, but not all of the old ones. Now after a few days it hits the captcha/turnstile again, and is unable to download posts.

I'm sure this is not intended behavior since one of the major points of RSS feeds is its ease of use.

Thank you! It works fine now.

Is there a way for me to fetch the missing articles though?

EDIT: The ones between the last fetched and the latest ones that got fetched.

I was also connecting out of India, and yep, can confirm it's fixed now.
              Thanks Michael!
