Whenever there is a performance improvment to any part of linux there are usually great articles and benchmarks on phoronix. However, these only show the performance increase of the particular change, so its hard to wrap your head around the bigger picture. It would be great to benchmark the latest kernel vs 1 year old, 3 year old and a 5 year old kernel to really see how the performance increases has accumulated during the past years.
