Rules of common decency in forums

I love to read the sometimes heated discussions in the Phoronix forums same as anybody, but recently I found that the tone of the discussion sometimes went downhill and become unacceptable.

There is the occasional posting that really crosses a line and makes me unable to continue enjoy reading. Let me quote the latest example as to the courtesy of "Weasel":

… when you're the retarded monkey whose brain was eaten by systemd …

Fucking retarded systemd fanboy.

Seriously, this language is far ahead of simply calling other people incompetent or stupid in the forums. That is something I can easily glance over even while it was, in effect, an offending statement. But what I read in the posting as quote above really turns me off.

I would appreciate it, and hope that others see it fit as well, to not leave postings like this stand without consequences.

Thanks for pointing out that post, it's been removed. When clearly offensive posts are pointed out, they are removed. But with me moderating all of the forums, I don't get to read every post and thus rely upon alerts when users find something that is clearly unacceptable language.

Michael Any chance of a "Report" button in the future? Insults and name calling are definite problem.

Took me less than 5min of browsing and I ran into another topic with name calling posts in it..

There should be a "flag" button next to each post already. That should work for reporting it to me.
