The thruth is Ubuntu suckZ. It is constantly cutting wings yourself by stupid decisions. I know they want to be independent and unique but projects like Mir, Unity are big failure even on paper.
Ubuntu market share would be much greater if there would be much less wrong decisions like that.

I tend to take a similar view, but from the opposite pole. If Canonical had supported Wayland, like they promised they would, Ubuntu would be drastically improved.

The problem is Wayland crew has no intentions of using android wrapper lib, and it took Mir to make them competitive. The fact is we need the likes of libhybris to get around the monopolies on driver support by the three majors, Apple, Microsoft, and now Google with Android.
